  1. It’s illegal to feed pigeons on the sidewalks and streets of San Francisco. This law is in place because feeding pigeons can harm neighborhoods and the birds themselves.
  2. An astronaut was allergic to the moon. During the Apollo 17 mission, astronaut Harrison Schmitt discovered he had a severe reaction to moon dust.
  3. There’s a toilet museum in New Delhi. The Sulabh International Museum of Toilets features a rare collection detailing the historic evolution of toilets from 2500 BC to the present day.
  4. The official bird of Redondo Beach, California, is the Goodyear Blimp. In 1983, the coastal city made the Goodyear Blimp their official city bird in anticipation of the 1984 Summer Olympics.
  5. Three U.S. Presidents have won Grammy Awards. Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama have all won Grammys in the Best Spoken Word Album category.
  6. Grapes light on fire in the microwave. This bizarre phenomenon occurs due to the unique properties of grapes and their ability to create plasma when microwaved.
  7. McDonald’s once created bubblegum-flavored broccoli. This unusual creation was part of an attempt to make kids eat healthier, but it didn’t quite catch on.
