When you think of a Service Delivery Manager, you might not picture someone who’s shared stages with the Psychedelic Furs or toured with the B-52s. But at Bespoke, we like to keep things interesting and so does Patrick Ferguson.
A Life in Rhythm and Resolution
Patrick’s professional journey has been anything but ordinary. With one foot in IT and the other in rock and roll, he’s spent decades solving technical problems by day and drumming by night. His resume includes tech support, technical writing, Linux systems administration, and DevOps. But it also includes gigs with Mike Mills of R.E.M., Chuck Leavell of the Rolling Stones, and roadie work for Culture Club and Gang of Four.
“I’ve had one foot in the IT world and one foot in Rock and Roll my entire adult life,” Patrick says. “Somehow, I ended up as a drummer on a tour bus, and I still work for the B-52s when they go on tour!”
Keeping Bespoke in Harmony
At Bespoke, Patrick serves as our Service Delivery Manager, keeping a close eye on ticket queues and workflows to ensure client needs are met swiftly and smoothly. He’s also a documentation enthusiast, constantly updating our internal knowledge base to keep the team aligned.
What does he love most about his role? “I genuinely enjoy working with people and solving their technical problems,” he says. “I’m a native Southerner, so what some people consider ‘small talk,’ I consider to be the music of life.”
A Family of Artists and Advocates
Patrick’s upbringing was rich with inspiration. His mother was an opera singer and Civil Rights activist, while his father was a military pilot and intelligence officer with a PhD in International Relations. Today, Patrick finds his greatest inspiration in his wife Lisa, a theatre professor and passionate student advocate, and their daughter Charli, a brave and hilarious K-Pop fan.
“My wife is a quiet revolutionary,” Patrick says. “And watching Charli grow up is the light of my life.”
Adventures, Books, and JJ the Husky
When he’s not working or touring, Patrick is reading poetry by Pablo Neruda and Federico García Lorca, practicing Spanish and French, or cooking Southern comfort food for his family. He’s also the proud new owner of JJ, a Siberian Husky he rescued from the side of a busy road in Athens, Georgia.
Final Thoughts
Patrick’s favorite superhero? His wife. His favorite binge-worthy show? Slow Horses. And his favorite place to visit? Mexico City, especially the Narvarte neighborhood, where he dreams of spending a year reading books, eating tacos, and perfecting his Spanish.
As Patrick puts it:
“I feel like Bespoke is growing rapidly, and I like the feeling of infinite possibilities that we’re experiencing right now. It seems like the sky is the limit.”
